The future for Australia’s organic industries is looking bright! We wanted to let you know about some of the exciting things that are happening and ask you to join in and Love Organic with us on 14 & 15 February.

The Australian Organic Industry Working Group consists of industry leaders from across Australia collaborating on establishing a harmonised national voice for all organic producers, certifiers and the supply chain.

Recent industry consultations by the Working Group indicated a broad desire for a new organic peak body that can overcome problems of the past and effectively represent the interests of the broader organic industry. There was also a sense of urgency and frustration—organic operators want their industry leaders to “just get on with it and make it happen”.

The Working Group has decided to do just that! So, we are organising an Organic Showcase in February 2018 in Canberra—yes, that’s only 2 weeks away! Please mark Valentine’s Day in your calendars so you don’t miss:

• Unification: we expect to announce the steps agreed to establish a new peak body
• Celebration: The Parliamentary Friends of Primary Industries will host a Parliamentary BBQ
• Trade Facilitation: have your say on the industry submission to the review of the Australian Government Organic Program.
